Course Summary
Advanced FirstClass® RAD explores additional topics in FirstClass application development. This 2-day course investigates new features of the RAD development environment, and reinforces and expands on the techniques learned in the introductory FirstClass RAD training. Experience in RAD development is essential to success in this course.
Course Objectives
At the end of this course, participants will be able to:
· create active and sleeping server applications to generate reports, monitor statistics and perform a variety of scheduled and event driven tasks
· use RAD for file input, output and download operations
· retrieve and parse the FirstClass user directory
· create animated and active user interfaces with the DoEvents command
· use application startup arguments and launch helper applications for added power and modularity
· incorporate windows applications with RAD solutions
· work with radio buttons, expanding lists of pictures, icons and checkboxes, graphics and image maps
· use the FCP protocol to open FirstClass documents folders and messages from your RAD applications
Prerequisites
Completion of the FirstClass RAD course or significant experience with RAD including:
· Experience with BASIC programming
· Creating application user interfaces with the FirstClass Designer
· Working with databases and ODBC data sources
· Generating email messages from RAD
· Using FirstClass Expanding List and Fixed List controls

Advanced FirstClass RAD is a two-day course.
