E-Rate Eligibility
FirstClass Schools provides a platform for advanced messaging, collaboration, document sharing and web publishing capabilities to education organizations, and has been designed to do this in a highly integrated fashion with all these features bound together in a tightly-integrated product. This has many benefits for our customers including ease of use, richer feature set and lower operational costs.
The Schools and Libraries Division has stated that a software solution like FirstClass Schools, includes a combination of eligible services (e.g. email, web-hosting) and non-eligible services (e.g. calendars, file storage), can be partially eligible for E-rate support if a portion of the cost attributable to the ineligible groupware features is "backed out." A conservative E-rate eligibility of 92.6% has been calculated and approved for awards in the 2006-2007, and 2007-2008 fiscal years.
