FirstClass 9.1 SP1 - Upgrade

The following installers may be used to upgrade an existing FirstClass 8.3 (build 393) server or better to FirstClass 9.1 SP1 (build 612) server.

FirstClass 9.0 Server SP1 - Upgrade

The following installers may be used to upgrade an existing FirstClass 8.3 (build 393) server or better to FirstClass 9.0 (build 571) server.

Current FirstClass 9.0 builds are:
        FirstClass Server 9.0 build 571
        FirstClass Internet Services 9.0 build 8.949


FirstClass Server 9.0 should only be administered with a FirstClass Client version 9.022 (or better).  The updated client installers may be downloaded from here.

FirstClass Server 9.0 - New Install

The following installers may be used to install a new FirstClass 9.0 server.  Unlicensed servers are fully functional for up to 5 regular user accounts, and may be used for testing and evaluation purposes.  For information on licensing, please contact Aptiris.

FirstClass 9.0 Archive Server - New Installations

The following installers may be used to install the FirstClass 9.0 Archive Server.  Unlicensed servers are fully functional for up to 10 regular user accounts, and may be used for testing and evaluation purposes.  For information on licensing, please contact Aptiris.

Current FirstClass 9.0 Archive Server build is:
        FirstClass Archive Server 9.0 build 542


FirstClass Archive Server 9.0 should only be administered with a FirstClass Client version 8.508 (or better), and must be run against FirstClass Server 9.0 build 542 or later.  The updated client installers will be available from your own website following the upgrade, or may be downloaded from www.aptiris.com/clientdownloads.




FirstClass Synchronization Services 9.0

The latest version of the FirstClass Synchronization Services 9.0 Build 15.
You must upgrade your 8.3 Server to Build 400 or greater before installing FCSS 9.0. To download b400 click here.




FirstClass Directory Services 9.0

The latest version of the FirstClass Directory Services 9.0 Build 0023.
FirstClass Directory Services V 9.0 should only be used with FirstClass Server version 9.0 or later.

The following installers may be used to upgrade the FirstClass Server 8.3 (b393) server to 8.3 (b400).

This FirstClass Server should only be administered with a FirstClass Client version 8.315 (or better)



FirstClass 8.3 SP1 - New Installations

FirstClass 8.3 Service Pack 1 Upgrade

The following installers may be used to upgrade an existing FirstClass 8.3 (build 384) server to FirstClass 8.3 Service Pack 1 (SP1, build 393).  Service Pack 1 is a recommended upgrade for all sites running FirstClass 8.3

        FirstClass Internet Services 8.3 build 8.272


The 8.3 upgrade includes significant changes to the end-user environment.  Please review the 8.3 User Interface overview prior to upgrading.

To maximize compatibility, Aptiris recommends that sites do not deploy the 8.3 client until after their server has been upgraded to 8.3.  Furthermore, sites that have deployed custom desktop graphics and/or conference backgrounds should carefully consider implications of the new client design and desktop model structure before upgrading.  A test upgrade of a backup server is recommended so administrators can familiarize themselves with the layout and available features of the 8.3 server when used with both 8.3 and earlier clients.



FirstClass 8.3 Server Upgrade

The FirstClass 8.3 Upgrade installer may only be used to upgrade a FirstClass 8.2 (build 323) server to FirstClass 8.3 (build 384) and FirstClass Internet Services to Server 8.3 build 8.262.  This is an upgrade only package, and cannot be used to install a new FirstClass Server.

FirstClass 8.3 - Log Analyzer

The FirstClass Log Analyzer is a Windows application available for download.  The analyzer may be used to analyze log files produced by either Macintosh or Windows servers.  A Log Analyzer server license is required to allow the tool to analyze more than 1000 log file lines.  For servers which do not have this license, the Analyzer will function in demonstration mode, examining 1000 lines.  Please contact Aptiris to order your Log Analyzer license file.



FirstClass 8.2 Upgrade

The FirstClass 8.2 Upgrade installer may be used to upgrade a FirstClass 8.0 SP5 (build 242) or FirstClass 8.1 server to FirstClass 8.2 (build 323) and FirstClass Internet Services to Server 8.2 build 323.  This is an upgrade only package, and cannot be used to install a new FirstClass Server.  

Please review our upgrade recommendations, and note in particular the requirements for:
- an 8.1 Upgrade License file (for upgrades from 8.0 or earlier)
- new OSX minimum requirements

To install this upgrade, shutdown your current version of FirstClass Server and FirstClass Internet Services and run the downloaded Upgrade executable:

The 8.2 upgrade provides a number of minor fixes and tuning enhancements.  Feature enhancements are primarily related to the support for a new Outlook-style option available with the 8.2 Windows client.  A full list of enhancements and fixes is available here.

FirstClass 8.0 Directory Services 1.1

Before installing and utilizing FirstClass Directory Services, please be sure you have carefully read and understand the documentation for this component.  Because synchronization of an existing FirstClass Network Store to an external LDAP directory can be complicated, Open Text strongly encourages sites to work with a certified partner such as Aptiris for the installation and configuration of this service.
